What is a Consumer?

Modified on Fri, 6 Apr, 2018 at 3:45 PM

The term Consumer refers to specific third parties that you wish to allow access to your data through Illuminate APIs. Consumers can be  parties within your institution such as HR that might need the data in your system to carry out specific tasks. Consumers also include parties outside your institution who may  require a specific portion of the data in your systems. By setting up a consumer in Illuminate, you can send the the specific information their system needs with no hassle on your behalf.

Certified Consumers are N2N business partners whose information is pre-prepared for your use. This information may include connection details and API definitions that have been prepared for the integration needs of specific consumer applications.

To add or edit consumers, click on ‘Consumers’ within the illuminate menu.
