The most critical portion of connecting APIs to your system and to various data sources is making sure that Illuminate knows which connections your system needs to use. Fortunately, Illuminate is set up to make this easy. Simply select the Connection menu item to get started.
The connections module allows you to setup a dataport, setup multiple database connections, setup identity providers and manage certificate information.
Connection types:
Dataport - If you are connecting to an on-premises database using SQL queries or stored procedures you may be required to deploy a dataport in order to facilitate secure communication. The dataport is an appliance that lives on your servers side of the firewall to manage communication to Illuminate.
Providers - Providers are all direct data providers or data sources including Identity providers, cloud providers and database systems. Illuminate supports identity providers such as AD, LDAP, CAS and Shibboleth, databases including Oracle and MS SQL, along with other cloud providers and file sources.
Certificates - Illuminate supports the storage of Certificate details and key information.
Subscriptions - Setup of Publish/Subscribe (Pub/Sub) integrations. Definition of endpoints and topic subscription details.
