Overview
Add an extra layer of protection to your Illuminate account. Once enabled, your login procedure changes: After entering your account credentials, you'll be required to verify your identity using a Google Authenticator.
Google Authenticator is an authentication app for mobile devices that generates time-based One-Time Passcodes (OTP) used during the multi-factor authentication process.
Set up the Google Authenticator on your mobile device
Install the Google Authenticator app on your device, then you can set up Illuminate to use the Google Authenticator for multi-factor authentication.
Install the Google Authenticator app on your iOS or Android device (more details for each Android device type can be found here).
On your mobile device, open the Google Authenticator app.
Tap the Add icon or Add an Account option, then do either of the following:
Tap Scan a QR code, and your device camera will be ready to scan a QR code in Illuminate.
Tap Enter a setup key, and you will be prompted to enter the Account Key from Illuminate.
Enable the Google Authenticator in Illuminate
New User
Activate your Illuminate account by following the link provided in the account activation email.
Set your security questions.
After setting your security questions, you will be prompted to enable multi-factor authentication. The on-screen instructions will guide you through setting up multi-factor authentication.
Existing User
Login to your Illuminate account using your credentials.
Select Account Settings in the top right profile dropdown.
Select the Security tab and click on the Multi-Factor Authentication tab.
Click on Enable Multi-Factor Authentication and follow the on-screen instructions.
